Description
The excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier starts in El Calafate, departing by bus towards Los Glaciares National Park. Upon arrival at Puerto Bajo de las Sombras, just 7 km from the walkways, we will embark to cross Lake Rico. After 20 minutes of navigation, we will disembark on the opposite shore.
Once on the other shore, we will begin a 30-minute walk with views of the south wall of the glacier, paying close attention to possible detachments that may occur. Upon reaching the edge of the ice, our dear guests will have the opportunity to admire the intense and varied shades of blue, white, and the fascinating shapes of the glacier. We will have plenty of time to take photos and then return to the embarkation point, always led by an expert guide. The total walking time will be approximately 1.30 hrs., traversing through a terrain of sand and pebbles, with gentle slopes and man-made stairs. The route –which is one and a half kilometers long- will take us along the lake shore and through a lush forest with wonderful views of the glacier.
Finally, we will take the boat again to contemplate from a shorter distance the entire south face of the glacier, observing every detail of the icy wall. Once at the port, if you have hired the transfer service, the bus will take you to the walkways. There, the guests have 2 hours to enjoy the incredible panoramic view and have lunch.
We return to El Calafate after touring the forest and the Patagonian steppe, with our souls full of the natural energy of this unique glacier and unforgettable new memories embedded in our hearts!

Important Information
We recommend to bring your own: Comfortable and warm clothing: jacket and waterproof pants, sports shoes or waterproof hiking boots (the weather is changeable and you need to be prepared so as not to get wet or cold), sunglasses, sunscreen, gloves, hat, your own packed lunch (our company does not provide a food or drink vending service) and your water bottle.
Age Restrictions: Only suitable for people aged 6 to 70. No exceptions.
Not suitable for: People with physical or mental disabilities that may affect their autonomy, pregnant women, people suffering from severe vertigo, sedentary people with obesity.
