Beagle Foodie + Penguin Watching
This activity is offered exclusively as a private tour.
We depart from Ushuaia heading north to the turnoff for Provincial Route “J,” which will take us back towards the Beagle Channel. We’ll stop at Laguna Victoria for refreshments. Once we reach Brown Bay, we’ll stop to take photos of the stunning scenery. Then we continue our journey towards Puerto Almanza, the main port for artisanal fishermen, who primarily catch king crab. Just a few kilometers past Puerto Almanza, we’ll arrive at the home of one of the most renowned fisherwomen in the area, not only for her work and experience but also because she’s the only female captain of the Beagle Channel (Diana). She’ll be waiting for us at her home to cook and taste all the dishes from the amazing Beagle Channel, creating an unforgettable gastronomic and social experience.
At the end of the tour, we’ll head to the port of Almanza and from there board a small boat. We’ll sail along the Beagle Channel to Isla Martillo (approximately 30 minutes) for close-up penguin watching (Genia and Magellanic). After a wonderful day, we’ll return to the city of Ushuaia.
